Mariah Carey is four months pregnant, it has been claimed.

The 'Hero' hitmaker ' who was pictured on stage in Brazil earlier this week with an apparent baby bump ' and husband Nick Cannon have allegedly told friends how 'overjoyed' they are to be expecting their first child together, despite refusing to publicly confirm the happy news.

A source told RadarOnline.com: 'Nick has been telling friends how excited he is to be a dad.

'Mariah has tried so hard to get pregnant. She's very excited. She wants to wait as close to full term as possible before going public with the news to her fans.'

Following her show in Brazil, Mariah - who recently dropped out of her next movie, 'For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf', citing medical reasons ' tweeted she had found the performance tough for 'personal reasons'.

She posted: "Seriously, I really do love it here, beautiful people inside and out! Tonite was tuff 4 me 4 personal reasons, but U got me thru! L4L. (sic)'

Nick has refused to be drawn on the pregnancy speculation this week, insisting it is a matter for his wife to tell her fans.

He said on his radio show: "I've said it before and I'll say it time and time again - when my wife feels like talking about whatever she wants to talk about, you will hear it directly from her.'

He said: 'What would I have thought of Chris at 16? That's a different scenario. He couldn't have walked through Marcy. I was a different person then ' I wasn't open to the world and different cultures.

' would have been, 'Yo! Who are you? Give me your money.' You couldn't have a guy like Chris walking through Marcy. He'd have got robbed. At best.'

Beyonce has also admitted she wanted to try for a baby this year.
Last July, the 'Crazy in Love' singer hinted she may get pregnant once her year-long tour was over.
She said: "I think I'll have a child when it's supposed to happen. Right now, I'll be on tour for a year and, you know..."

The singer ' whose older sibling, the late King of Pop, died on June 25 last year ' still thinks about him every day but is trying hard to enjoy life and look towards the future.

She said: 'There isn't a day goes by even now that I don't think about Michael, where we don't all think about him. But right now, I'm in a better space and I'm moving on with my life. At time it can be hard. But I'm growing and learning and loving. I'm enjoying my life very much and I've learnt that life is precious.'

Determined to make the most of life, the 44-year-old singer still feels like a 'kid inside', and spends a lot of time with younger colleagues and her 25 nieces and nephews in a bid to stay feeling youthful.

She explained: 'To be honest with you, I still feel that I'm very much a kid inside. Yes, I'm 44 and enjoying many aspects of that. I like the feeling of maturity it gives me. But at the same time, I feel a huge connection with, say, 20 year olds like the dancers I work with ' we do a great deal of bonding. And a lot of my nieces and nephews are in their 20s, so we're close. Maybe it's the kid in them speaking to the kid in me. They're young adults, still learning. They have that energy and love of life, and I think I still have that too.'

Janet's bond with these family members is so strong, she admits they often turn to her when they are in trouble.

She added to You magazine: ' get texts and emails all day long from them. Aunty Janet this and Aunty Janet that. I'm the aunt that they come to when they're going to get in trouble. You know, 'I just got a tattoo, or a piercing. And my dad saw it last night and he ants to choke me! Can you talk to him, Aunty Janet?'

Following a performance on Good Morning America, the Black Eyed Peas announced a new album is in the pipes.

The megastar group hit Good Morning America for the TV shows Summer Concert Series, playing 'I Gotta Feeling' and 'Boom Boom Pow'.

They then noted that they would be releasing a follow-up to their 2009, bazillion-times platinum The E.N.D. before the end of 2010.

Of course, The E.N.D. was never a final note, but merely an acronym for 'The Energy Never Dies'.

They announced ominously that the title of the new album would be The Beginning. There's no word on whether that's a torturous anagram for anything just yet.

Will.i.am said that The Beginning 'symbolizes growth, new beginnings and starts, fresh new perspective.'

He said the album was almost done and is scheduled for release before the end of 2010
